The Chicago City-Wide Collection contains materials that overlap several neighborhoods.
The focus of this collection is general Chicago history, covering the city as a whole and the communities for which there is no separate neighborhood history collection.
Materials on the Loop and Downtown areas can be found in this collection.
Special strengths of the collection include historical and contemporary documentation of the 1871 Chicago Fire, a series of Chicago maps dating back to 1835, and early West and South Side Park Commission reports and maps.
